Why I can't support Uwazuruike

Why should I throw my hat in with the cause of someone who doesn't even know the meaning of his utterances? And that is the problem with most of the people around him: they have no clue as to what they really want, what went down before 1966, how to go about sorting out the mess that is currently on the ground, and as that article shows, no ideas how to sort out the mess that their wishes will create. Historical illiteracy.

For the sake of clarity:

Balkanize

Bal·kan·ize /ˈbɔlkəˌnaɪz/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[bawl-kuh-nahyz] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–verb (used with object), -ized, -iz·ing.
1. to divide (a country, territory, etc.) into small, quarrelsome, ineffectual states.
2. (often lowercase) to divide (groups, areas, etc.) into contending and usually ineffectual factions: a movement to balkanize minority voters.

Thank God, I am not the only person that feels this way. Historical illiteracy, indeed.

I bet Ralph thinks "Balkanise" is a fancy word of some sort. Biafra would not last 6 months before being invaded and conquered by Cameroon.cy

I agree with u,mad lawyer, as we discussed last night. Its (dys)functional illiterates like Uwazurike and his ilk that are part of the major problem in the south-east, and not the country, Nigeria, as they like to think. When would this dudes wake up and realise that truly....our people perish for lack of knowledge (as the good book says)?

Cant judge the man based on a single word. Dont know much about what he stands for to make a call one way or the other. I feel the whole picture maybe not his methods, not until I fully understand them..

@ chxta and the rest,

what baffles me is how on this blog, every Ibo freedom fighter is always derided, scorned or run down, is this how you people get off ?,
i can understand non-Ibos doing it on this blog as they are born with the Ibo phobia, but the chxtas of this world forget that if and when naija decides to finish off with us Ibos, his 'sell out' arse won't be spared either (go and read about all the jewish scientist that supported the german war effort in WW1, especially the great chemist Haber who developed the poison gas for germany, Hitler later killed his son etc).
Ibos who love to put down their own will live to regret it. do i support uwazurike? well i do not know his full agenda, but i will never put him down, because wrong or right his first manifesto is for freedom.

when he came to Owerri after his release, people came out to greet him, even people too sick to leave hospital did come, what does that tell you all?(vox popli, vox dei) people are tired of naija and want alternatives and that is why he used the word BALKANIZE, it is not meant to confuse any one, but simply means going back to how we were before the British came and heaped us different people together in this mess call nigeria.

PLS Ibo bashing in all kinds of forms has to stop, this is what leads and has already lead to genocide,(it also happend to the jews), it all starts by name calling and targging a particular people first, hence setting the stage for their subsequent massacre, (calling a dog a bad name just to kill it), remember Europeans said black people were 3/5 of a human and hence were fit for slavery, today Ibos are labelled greedy, aggressive, 419ners,cheats, think they are better than others, spare parts dealers only, bad people etc, with such labels, who will feel sorry when we face genocide again, remember that in 1966, papers all over naija rarely reported what happened to us, go and check the archives to confirm, Lt col Victor Banjo also complained about this non-reporting issue.

God bless you

You'd never understand, so there is no point trying to educate you...

@ chxta,

you have never answered me, so don't say "there is no point educating me", that is an easy cop out, i am not an angry man, so don't run, in fact i enjoy debates, it is away to let other know what you think, and also learn from them.

so pls do educate me chxta, i am on my knees waiting for just one detailed reply, not the "run along" etc that you give me, at least LAW is man enough to take me on albeit he only sees the small picture in issues.
